Episode 1: Mary Bowser – The Spy Who Outsmarted the Confederacy
Mary Bowser was a formerly enslaved woman who became a Union spy during the Civil War. Posing as an illiterate servant, she infiltrated the Confederate White House, memorizing battle plans and passing them to Union forces. Her bravery and intelligence helped change the course of history, yet her story remains largely unknown.
